College Meetings

“Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?”

This week at the Christian Students at UCI college meeting, we had a wonderful time together as brothers and sisters. We had very sublime curry with rice and like three different types of salad dressing. It was a time to relax while in the presence of other believers that dropped the burdens of life and stress off one’s shoulders. In the reading we learned about the central thought of God in the Bible. The Bible reveals that the church is the Body of Christ with Christ as the Head of the Body. This is seen in Acts 9:4-5 with the example of Saul who opposed the church and persecuted the Lord followers such as Stephen and others. On Saul’s way to Damascus to persecute Christians, the Lord spoke to Saul and asked, “Saul, why do you persecute Me?” When Saul asked who was speaking, the Lord said, “I am Jesus, whom you persecute.” This shows that when Saul persecuted the Christians he was persecuting the Lord’s Body, the church. This shows the relationship between Christ and the church. The example of our physical body depicts it. If you strike someone across the hand, the person would say, “Why did you hit me?”

We are joined to the Lord and He is one with us. It’s an organic relationship in life. We really are His mystical Body!

Join us next week as we continue our fellowship with the Lord!
